Fancy an afternoon out for a private view of the largest Vermeer exhibition in history?
Unfortunately we're not proposing a trip to the Rijksmusuem in Amsterdam, instead we'll be going to Broadway Cinema on Monday 24 April for the 3pm screening of this new exhibition on screen.
With loans from across the world, this major retrospective at the Rijksmuseum, will bring together Vermeer’s most famous masterpieces including Girl with a Pearl Earring, The Geographer, The Milkmaid, The Little Street, Lady Writing a Letter with her Maid, and Woman Holding a Balance.
Johannes Vermeer was a Dutch Baroque Period painter who specialized in domestic interior scenes of middle-class life. During his lifetime, he was a moderately successful provincial genre painter, recognized in Delft and The Hague.
This film will explore all the artworks within the exhibition, alongside narration and interviews with director of the Rijksmuseum and the curator of the show.
If you'd like to join us, we ask you to purchase your own ticket via the Broadway box office - broadway.org.uk/whats-on/vermeer-blockbuster-exhibition (Tickets are £10 and are selling fast so we recommend you book beforehand through the website, or by calling 0115 952 6611)
We'll be about to meet you before the film and catch up over a hot drink afterwards.
