Alive and Kicking

We're hosting a poetry workshop, performance and open mic as part of Nottingham Poetry Festival.


Do you like poetry? Would you like to have a go at writing some of your own? As part of the Nottingham Poetry festival we’re hosting an ArtSpeak poetry workshop for people aged 60+. Led by local poets Sue Allen, Clare Stewart, Laura Grevel and Margaret Gosley, they’ll use a range of fun and stimulating activities to get your creative juices flowing and help you produce some unique work.


When: Saturday 27 May, 14:00 - 15:30

Where: Tiger Community Hub, 19-21 Lister Gate, Nottingham NG1 7DE

How much: £6 plus booking fees

Following the workshop will be a performance where you’ll get to hear material from workshop leaders, Sue, Clare, Laura and Margaret. There’ll also be open mic slots for anyone wanting to get involved, which you can sign up for on the day. You could either perform some original material, read a poem you like or write a response to one.


The open mic is free, open to all and there’s no need to have attended the workshop.

The workshop is an ArtSpeak event for people aged 60+, the open mic and performance is open to all ages.
