Take a Virtual Journey

“Instead of worrying about what you cannot control, focus your energy on what you can create.” Roy Bennett

There is still time to sign up for our drawing workshop this Saturday with Illustrator Megan Rose.

Where's your favourite place to go for a walk? Where have you visited where you loved the landscape? Maybe it was somewhere in this country - Derbyshire, The Peaks, The Dales, The Lakes? Or maybe it was somewhere abroad? Throughout this workshop you'll have the opportunity to take a 'virtual' journey to new places as well as revisit old ones and produce your own landscape compositions.

Megan will help place you in these landscapes by using digital tools such as Google Maps and MapCrunch to influence your drawing and mark making. You'll also be invited to incorporate personal memories and experiences by working from you own photographs of places you've been.

All you need to take part in this workshop is some paper and coloring pencils. These can be provided if you sign up by Tuesday afternoon.

This workshop will be taking place via Zoom and is being held at 10:30 - 12:00.

We know the news of a new lockdown is hard to hear and it's important we all keep our minds active and remain connected during this time.

We're continuing to develop our online programme and would love to hear from you about what you'd like to see in this.

We'll also soon be sharing an Art book filled with activities, news and ideas to help keep you engaged in the Arts from home. Within this, we'll be sharing some of the work created by our members. If you've produced anything recently that you'd like to share with others, please get in touch with us. This could be an image, images of something you'd made, something you've written or recorded etc.
