In September we set up a Photography group in Bilborough and the group have met weekly for 10 weeks.
Photographer Jagdish Patel has led the group and together they have learnt about composition, framing and exposure among other camera techniques. Throughout this course, they have enjoyed a number of visits to locations around Nottingham to put their skills into practice and explore the surrounding landscapes whilst developing their portfolio of work. These have included: Wollaton Park, Attenborough Nature Reserve, Newstead Abbey, Nottingham City Centre and Lakeside.
Some fantastic photographs have been taken and the group are going to be exhibiting some of their favourite images at Central Library as part of the Off Centre Photo Festival.
This exhibition will run from the afternoon of Friday 15 November - Friday 29 November and will be open during library opening hours. We're holding a launch event for members and their family and friends on Tuesday 19 November from 4 - 6:30pm.
Other venues involved in the festival are: New Art Exchange, Broadway, St Peter's Church, Sobar, The Photo Parlour, Backlit and Rough Trade. You can find out more about the festival here
